Blue Gives Back

Blue-smallEarlier this summer project AVA held “The Double Play” fundraiser where a portion of the proceeds were to be shared with another non-profit organization.  Among other prizes, one prize was being selected to “Pick the Charity”. For every donation that was made to project AVA during our fundraising event, the donor’s name was entered into a raffle. The name chosen would pick the charity that project AVA would make a donation to.

On August 25th, 2015, project AVA made a donation to The Macon County Child Advocacy Center located in Decatur, IL in honor of Detective Erik Ethell of the Decatur Police Department. Erik’s name was drawn and he selected this organization to be the recipient of our donation. The mission of the Macon County Child Advocacy Center is “to minimize the trauma experienced by child victims and witnesses of sexual and physical abuse and other crimes of violence and to provide support and coordination for these children and their non-offending family members throughout any consequent proceedings within the criminal justice system in Macon and Piatt Counties.”

We’d like to thank The Macon County Child Advocacy Center for their commitment to their community and putting at-risk children and families at the forefront of their mission.

A very special thank you to Detective Ethell who is a juvenile detective on the Decatur Police Department. Not only has he dedicated his career to serving his community and at risk children, he has also gone above and beyond his call of duty and selected this organization to be the recipient of our donation.

Thank you for your continued support of project AVA!
